We Started off from Bournemouth and our first leg was from Bournemouth to Manston in Kent, We arrived at manston in 1hr 15 mins with no problems....

After stopping at Manston for an hour or so to grab a cuppa and sort out our flight plan across to Ostend (Belgium)and to be interviewed by the local Police, we started the engine and taxied out to the runway... We took off and flew straight ahead towards Belguim. At about 8 miles out from the Airport, the engine started to run rough... not happy with the rough running engine flying over water for about half an hour we decided to turn back for an emergency landing at Manston to get the flying club maintainence to have a look at the engine and find out what was wrong.

Coming into land at manston we noticed 5 Fire Engines lined up to follow us down the runway....
